WICHITA, KS – Several citizens prevented a dangerous situation from becoming a tragedy after a driver passed out behind the wheel and crashed into a city bus.
A 41-year-old man was driving his Cadillac Escalade when he suddenly passed out and crashed into the rear of a city bus. With his foot still on the gas pedals, the tires continued to spin and screech until smoke started to pour from the SUV.
Several bystanders tried to wake the man by pounding on his windows and trying to break the windows out to access him.
After several minutes a man was able to break the window with a hammer and fire extinguisher and take the man’s foot off of the pedal.
The driver was pulled out and reportedly only suffered minor injuries.
