A North Memphis man is lucky to be alive today after being shot in the neck.
Quiezell Johnson was walking down the street last month when a car pulled up and shot at him, Local 24 reported. “A car pulled up on me and shots got fired and the only thing I can recall is the bullet going through my neck,” Quiezell said.
Memphis Police Officer Chris Williams got the call and was the first to arrive on the scene. Officer Williams grabbed a first aid kit called a “Medicop” kit which has essentials for administering life saving first aid techniques.
“I got my gauze and I got my trauma pack and I theoretically pushed it inside his neck so it would stop the bleeding,” Officer Williams said. Officer Williams stayed with Quiezell until paramedics arrived.
“I never thought I would be saved by an officer, because when I was growing up, the officers always thought we were crooks and up to no good,” Quiezell said.
On Wednesday, Officer Williams got to meet with Quizell and his family. Quiezell’s grandmother said in an interview with Local 24, “Black lives do matter and my grandson mattered to Officer Chris Williams and I want the world to know that.”
God is good. He must of sent him my way for a reason. I will remember Officer Williams for the rest of my life.
