SILVER SPRINGS, MD – Montgomery County Police Officers saved the life of a stabbing victim in June and the police department has released the video of the incident.
Officer Justin Lee responded to a report of a stabbing. Upon his arrival Officer Lee found a 28 year old man in the parking lot who was unresponsive and bleeding profusely.
In the video, Officer Lee can be seen tying a tourniquet around the man’s arm to stop the bleeding. Shortly after Officer Addison White arrives and applies a trauma bandage to a stab wound in the man’s chest.
While the officers were saving the man’s life, witnesses told the officers the suspect was possibly inside a house just feet away from where they were. Both officers continue to remain calm, provide aid to the victim, and cover the home where the suspect possibly is hiding, all while bystanders yell and scream for the man to respond. Paramedics eventually respond and transport the man to the hospital where he has since been released.
The suspect in the incident has been arrested and charged.
Captain Darren Francke said in a press release, “We are proud of these highly trained officers who, without regard for their own safety during this ongoing pandemic, provided immediate care that saved a life. The officers also placed a dangerous criminal under arrest.”
Officer Lee and Officer White, you are true heroes.
