LACY LAKEVIEW, TX – Two off duty officers and an off duty paramedic save a woman who was trapped inside a burning car after she was involved in a traffic crash.
Waco Police Officer Adam Beseda was off duty and on his way home when he happened upon a vehicle that was involved in a traffic crash and was on fire. Officer Beseda stopped to render aid and discovered a woman was trapped inside the vehicle and unconscious. In addition the fire was spreading rapidly.
At the same time Lacy Lakeview Police Lieutenant David Cummings and AMR Paramedic Richard Lednicky also stopped to help.
The men were able to cut the seatbelt off the woman and pull from the burning car. The men were able to provide aid and helped the woman regain consciousness. They stayed with her until AMR arrived and transported her to Hillcrest Hospital.
The woman, Season Valdez received serious injuries, but is home recovering thanks to the heroic actions of these men. Valdez told KWTX News, “I’m glad that I get to live a little longer to see my first granddaughter be born. I just want to thank them again.”
Lacy Lakeview Police Chief John Truehitt presented the three men with a live saving award. Chief Truehitt said, “The men did what officers do everyday throughout the United States. To be honest, they don’t want the recognition, these three men, but they deserve it.”
They sure do. You are all true heroes. Thank you for your service.
