Six Plano Police Officers save the life of a shooting victim

Six Plano Police Officers are presented with a life saving award after saving the life of a shooting victim who was shot multiple times.

PLANO, TX – Six Plano Police Officers are presented with a life saving award after saving the life of a shooting victim that was shot multiple times.

Plano Police Department received a call on July 13, 2020 of a shooting in the 7100 block of Chase Oaks Blvd. Witnesses reported multiple shots had been fired and there was a male victim lying on the ground.

Officer Brantley, Officer Lederman, Officer Pell, Officer Tobin, Officer Pace, and Officer Scharlau arrived on scene within two minutes.

The officers located the male victim who had been shot multiple times in his torso, arms, and legs, and was bleeding profusely.

The officers immediately began life saving emergency aid to include applying tourniquets to his arms and legs, and chest seals to his torso.

Plano Fire-Rescue arrived five minutes after the officers began rendering aid and were able to transport the victim to the hospital immediately for treatment.

Plano Fire-Rescue and the doctors at the hospital advised that the immediate trauma care provided by the officers is what saved the victim’s life.

Chief Drain presented all six officers with the Lifesaving Award last week.
