Officer saves dog stuck in pond

A New Jersey police officer helped a dog to safety that was stuck in a mucky pond.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A Washington Township, NJ police officer is being called a hero after he rescued a dog who was stuck in a mucky pond PoliceOne reported. When Officer John Kuligowski saw the dog, he used a nearby kayak and paddled over to the dog.

Officer Kuligowski was able to bring the dog safely to shore. Animal control officers responded to take dog, named Akela and hopefully reunite her with her owners. 

The Washington Township Police Department posted the videos of the rescue to their Facebook page.
